Last week, I wrote about the many ways dogs help us lead happier, healthier lives.
Today, I’m sharing an abbreviated version of Soulful Sunday as I’m taking time to grieve the loss of our beloved dog, Gracie, who passed after thirteen years with my family on April 15th.
I hoped we would have more time with her, but it became apparent a few days ago that our efforts to stabilize her condition were no longer working. I knew there was little more we could do than spend time with her and show her how much she was loved.
That’s exactly what we did.
Although she could not take her cherished walks, she was surrounded by her family members every day and reminded how much love, joy, and happiness she brought us all.
Instead of taking time to write my weekly edition, I chose to spend time with Gracie. She deserved my attention.
For those of you who have not experienced the bond between dogs and their owners, you may not understand the need to grieve this loss, but for those who do, I know I need not say more.
I’ll return next week with a regular edition of Soulful Sunday. Until then, I’m celebrating the life of our beautiful girl and taking time to grieve our loss.
Rest in peace, Gracie. You’ll remain in our hearts and minds always.
Thank you for loving us and making each day a little brighter.
I was so sorry to hear of Gracie’s passing. I know she brought joy and love through some very challenging times and she felt all your love everyday💔. I hope over time the big hole in your heart will heal and you will have more happy memories as you go forward .
Rip Gracie. Sending ❤️
